Your first introduction to the Serengeti focuses on the vast plains and their abundant wildlife, with opportunities to look for wildebeest, giraffes, antelope, elephants, hyenas, cheetahs and other species before continuing to your lodge. Overnight: Kati Kati Tented Camp, Central Serengeti DAY 2 Full Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park Spend the day on game drives across Serengeti National Park, exploring its open plains and wildlife-rich habitats with your safari guide. Depending on season and animal movements, you may encounter wildebeest and zebra herds, big cats, elephants, giraffes, antelope and a wide variety of birdlife. The guide will adapt the route to current wildlife activity and viewing conditions. Overnight: Kati Kati Tented Camp, Central Serengeti DAY 3 Full Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park Spend the day on game drives across Serengeti National Park, exploring its open plains and wildlife-rich habitats with your safari guide. The volcanic basin supports a rich mix of East African wildlife and offers particularly rewarding opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, predators and, with luck, the rare black rhino against the dramatic crater-wall backdrop. Overnight: Marera Valley Lodge, Karatu DAY 5 Depart to Tarangire National Park & for a Full Game Drive Explore Tarangire National Park on a full-day game drive through landscapes famous for ancient baobab trees, seasonal river systems and large elephant populations. Depending on the season, the Tarangire River attracts wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, antelope and many other animals, while the park is also recognised for its exceptional bird diversity. Overnight: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, Tarangire DAY 6 Full Day Game Drive at Tarangire National Park Explore Tarangire National Park on a full-day game drive through landscapes famous for ancient baobab trees, seasonal river systems and large elephant populations. Depending on the season, the Tarangire River attracts wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, antelope and many other animals, while the park is also recognised for its exceptional bird diversity. Overnight: Sangaiwe Tented Lodge, Tarangire DAY 7 Maasai Boma Tour & Depart to Airport Visit a Maasai boma for an introduction to local traditions, family life, clothing, livelihoods, music and dance. The visit offers a cultural counterpoint to the wildlife safari before you continue to the mainland airport for your separately booked domestic flight to Zanzibar. This mainland Tanzania–Zanzibar flight is not included in the base package price. On arrival in Zanzibar, meet our island team and transfer to Tembo House Hotel in Stone Town. Overnight: Tembo House Hotel, Stone Town DAY 8 Stone Town Walking Tour — Zanzibar History, Culture & Shopping After breakfast, enjoy a short guided walking tour through the historic heart of Stone Town, lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Walk through atmospheric lanes and heritage areas while your guide explains Zanzibar’s Swahili culture, Indian Ocean trading history, architecture, carved doors and the history of the East African slave trade. Key exterior viewpoints may include the Old Fort, the House of Wonders area, Forodhani Gardens, local market streets and the former Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral area. There is also time to browse local shops for crafts, souvenirs and spices. No paid entrance fees are included; if you choose to enter any ticketed site, including the Slave Market site, admission is paid directly by you. After the walk, transfer to Smiles Beach Hotel in Nungwi for check-in, beach time and relaxation. Overnight: Smiles Beach Hotel, Nungwi DAY 9 Zanzibar Beach Leisure & Optional Short Experiences Enjoy a full day at leisure at your beach hotel, with time for the beach, swimming pool and relaxation. No compulsory excursion is scheduled. If you feel rested and would like to add an experience, optional short or half-day activities such as Mnemba snorkeling, a Spice Tour or Prison Island can be arranged on request, subject to availability, sea conditions and your preferred timing. Optional activities are not included in the base package price. Overnight: Smiles Beach Hotel, Nungwi DAY 10 Beach Leisure & Departure Enjoy your remaining time at the beach hotel at a relaxed pace. Depending on your confirmed departure time, you may swim, relax by the pool or enjoy the beach before your transfer to Zanzibar Airport or the seaport for your onward journey.
