As the landscape opens into savanna, begin your first wildlife viewing around the park, where common sightings can include zebra, impala, giraffe, buffalo and elephants, with predators such as lions and wild dogs possible depending on conditions. Overnight: Camp Bastian Mikumi DAY 2 A Full Day Game Drive at Mikumi National Park Spend a full day exploring Mikumi National Park in a safari vehicle with your guide. The park’s grassland, woodland and water sources attract elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and antelope, while lions, leopards, wild dogs and jackals may also be encountered. Birdwatching is another highlight, particularly around the park’s varied habitats. Overnight: Camp Bastian Mikumi DAY 3 Mikumi – Drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park Begin with an early wildlife drive in Mikumi before continuing by road to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The scenery changes from open savanna to forested mountains, waterfalls and lush uplands. Udzungwa is especially notable for its primates, including red colobus and Sanje crested mangabey, as well as diverse birds, reptiles and forest wildlife. Overnight: Hondo Hondo Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp DAY 4 Udzungwa Mountains National Park – Drive Back & Depart to Airport Set out on a guided trek in Udzungwa Mountains National Park toward the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, passing through dense forest and mountain habitat along the way. After the hike, leave the park and continue to the airport for the flight to Zanzibar, where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your beach accommodation. On arrival in Zanzibar, transfer to Tembo House Hotel in Stone Town for overnight. Overnight: Tembo House Hotel, Stone Town DAY 5 Stone Town Walking Tour — Zanzibar History, Culture & Shopping After breakfast, enjoy a short guided walking tour through the historic heart of Stone Town, lasting approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Walk through atmospheric lanes and heritage areas while your guide explains Zanzibar’s Swahili culture, Indian Ocean trading history, architecture, carved doors and the history of the East African slave trade. Key exterior viewpoints may include the Old Fort, the House of Wonders area, Forodhani Gardens, local market streets and the former Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral area. There is also time to browse local shops for crafts, souvenirs and spices. No paid entrance fees are included; if you choose to enter any ticketed site, including the Slave Market site, admission is paid directly by you. After the walk, transfer to Smiles Beach Hotel in Nungwi for check-in, beach time and relaxation. Overnight: Smiles Beach Hotel, Nungwi DAY 6 Beach Leisure & Departure Enjoy your remaining time at the beach hotel at a relaxed pace. Depending on your confirmed departure time, you may swim, relax by the pool or enjoy the beach before your transfer to Zanzibar Airport or the seaport for your onward journey.
